Meet the Coaching Team:

 

Name: Raj Rout

Position: Head Coach

Raj returns for his third season as South West Head Coach, joined by a new group of assistant coaches. He is looking forward to working towards the regional tournament and trying to replicate the success that the teams had last year, when both A and B teams won their respective tournaments.

Prior to South West, Raj held positions of Head Coach for the Wales Senior Women and at Oxford University. With just over a month to go until the first trial date, he is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces from last year, and also encourages eligible players to trial for this historic and prestigious UK lacrosse tournament.

 

Name: Conor Dockery

Position: Assistant Coach

Conor has been involved in lacrosse for over 10 years with previous experience coaching Brighton University and Cheltenham Women’s Lacrosse Club. He currently coaches the SW and London South England Regional Academy, Cheltenham Ladies College and is Head Coach of the Cheltenham Lacrosse Men’s team. Conor has also coached the provincial team in BC, Canada.  

 

Name: Rob Ingham Clark

Position: Assistant Coach

Rob draws from a variety of codes of the game, having spent the past five years as a professional lacrosse coach. He has been Head of Lacrosse at Stowe School since September 2018, and presently coaches Wales U19/U20 Men’s. A keen box lacrosse player, he has played for Dreadlax at the past two Tasko Cups, as well as for the international touring side NOAFE at both Winter Lax Cup and Frank Menchner Cup in 2019. Furthermore, he has coached the English Universities men’s team from 2017, including two best-ever finishes at Nick Kehoe 2017 (6th of 10) and 2018 (4th of 12) against tough regional and international sides. In terms of club lacrosse, Rob co-founded the Camden Capybaras and plays whenever he can between school fixtures, travelling to London every Tuesday as a player-coach. Notable achievements include the Centurions LC Stan Smith award for growing the game in the South, as well as winning the I Herts Lacrosse 8s tournament with the Capybaras ahead of Hitchin and Welwyn.

 

Name: Kieran Milner

Position: Assistant Coach

Kieran coaches at school, university and international level, and is involved in both the men’s and women’s games. He is currently the Head Coach for the Portugal Men’s national team, a lead coach with the Wales Dragons u19s, Head Coach at the University of Reading and a coach at Claremont Fan Court School. He has also previously coached at Caterham School and was the Head Coach for the Scotland u19 B team at Home Internationals last year. In addition to his coaching in the UK, he also gained some coaching experience during the summer in the United States as a Head Coach.

 

Name: Chloe Watterston

Position: Team Manager

Chloe is currently studying for a Masters in Victorian Literature and Culture whilst building up her coaching experience part-time. She has been a lacrosse coach at the University of Kent for the past five years and last year was Assistant Coach for the South West Senior Squad. Chloe is now involved in the England Regional Academy coaching team for London South and coaches for England Lacrosse at their Triple Arrow Performance camps. She also currently coaches for King’s School, Canterbury. This is her first season as Manager for the South West Team and she is excited to be involved for this year’s Regionals.

Trials: 12th Jan St Swithun's School, Winchester 

Squad Training Day: 16th Feb

Tournament: 21st and 22nd March
